Spanish 1-2 Country Project

This project is due on Monday, October 10, 2011. Students will have time in class on Wednesday, October 5 to complete their research.

Spanish 1-2 Country Project

You are going to be making a mobile. Your mobile will contain information about a Spanish speaking country. You can choose from the Spanish speaking countries on the back of this sheet. Your mobile should at least contain the information listed on this sheet. The point value is listed after each item.

o You must include a map of the country, which has the capitol and at least three other cities labeled. You will also need to label one body of water and one mountain range. Your map needs to be hand drawn. (7)

o You must include the major exports of the country. (2)

o You must include the president or ruler of the country. (1)

o You must include the primary religion of the country. (1)

o You must include 5 interesting facts, historical sites, or points of interest. (5)

o You must include 3 activities for tourists who visit the country. (3)

o Your project must be neatly presented and demonstrate creativity. (6)

o You must prepare a 1-page paper about your country. (15)

o You must present your mobile to the other students in the class. (5)

This project is worth a total of 45 points.

We will spend one period using the computer carts for research. You will have a data sheet to complete during that period.

Remember to be as organized, neat and creative as possible. You will share your mobile projects with other students in the class and we will display them in the classroom.

You will also need to prepare a one page, typed paper about the country that you studied. Your paper should be free from spelling and grammatical errors. You need to have 1-inch margins on your paper and you need to use a 10 or 12 point font. The font you use must be easily readable.

Projects and papers that are not ready to be turned in on the due date will drop one letter grade for each day that they are late.
